I wouldn't have thought there would be much chance of that.....suppose it depends what you class as "kicking up a fuss"...there will be penalty charges, return of the phone, accessories and any free gifts etc

    I expect theyll charge you for the line rental until mth 18 but I wouldnt be happy paying line rental when people coudlnt get hold of me.

    Is there a clause in your contract to say under what circumstances you can cancel early?

    Surely if the network arent providing the service your paying for, theyre in breach of their terms :confused:

    emweaver, I agree, but I would have thought it would be difficult to prove they aren't providing the service they promised....

    I dont know, but write a snotty letter saying theyre not providing a service and unless they let u cancel with no penalties ull take legal action.

    If they dont give in speak to consumer direct as ive found them very helpful dealing with matters like this.

    Found this in their pay monthly terms:

    In the above cases this Agreement does not come to an end and you are still liable for all monthly (or other periodic) line rental charges due during any period of suspension. Therefore, we recommend that you privately arrange insurance to cover any monthly (or other periodic) line rental charges you have to pay. However, if you are unable to use all of the Services for a continuous period of 3 days because:-
    • There is a technical failure of the networks;
    • They are being tested, modified or maintained; or
    • access is denied to us you will receive a credit against your monthly (or other periodic) line rental charge. The credit will represent that part of the monthly (or other periodic) line rental charge for the period of suspension.

    Quote this to them and say if you have to take legal action you will recover the line rental charged during the period they didnt not supply the service.

    Also in their terms:

    a) You may end this Agreement immediately by writing to us if:-
    • we do not do what we have to do under this Agreement and do not put it right within 7 days of being asked in writing to do so;
    • all of the Services are permanently no longer available to you;

    Hi Gorrebo

    Working for Vodafone, I can tell you that if the network problems have always been there (ie- they existed when you took out the contract), or you have moved house into a area with poor coverage, you will not be allowed to cancel your contract.

    As the terms and conditions say, if the network has permenantly been disabled in your area (ie - a site has been decommisioned), then they will terminate your account, otherwise, they will just credit your line rental for the period you were without service.

    If you want any further information, or have any queries regarding the service in your area, if you go to the Contact Us of the Vodafone website, you will be able to send us an email. If you include FIT135 in the body of the text, it will be routed to a team who monitor the public forums and will be able to help
