I sold a re-conditioned dehumidifier outside of eBay a couple of years ago and the buyer would only pay me via PayPal. The buyer demanded to have the item delivered to her next day but wouldn't pay for a guaranteed delivery service, so I sent the item by standard courier delivery and luckily she got it next day. Three weeks later, out of the blue, I got a phone call from the buyer telling me the item was not working and demanded a full refund. I told her she had the item for 3 weeks, why contacted me now to say it was not working. I told her I would not refund her the money and she reported me to PayPal.

Cut the long story short, PayPal decided to issue the buyer a full refund, but the buyer must return the item back to me. When I got the item back, it was all filthy and full of scratches. Obviously it had been used heavily. I took the machine to a local repair shop, I was told the machine had been dropped and it broke the thermostat. I did not think the machine was damaged during the transit to her otherwise she would have contacted me straight away but not 3 weeks later.

She did say to me in the beginning thou she needed the machine for refurbishing her house, this is why she demanded to have it next day. So after all, the buyer used my machine for 3 weeks for free then sent it back in a knackered condition.
