Aintree Hospital Car Park

In November last year, I visited a university facility at the hospital. Parking in one of the rear car parks, I parked on a kerb with no yellow lines adjacent. I did not block a road or any access, in so doing.

On returning to the car, a ticket had been issues stating that I hadn't parked in a space provided for parking and that I'd also parked on grass.

Firstly: I parked where I did, relying upon the fact that that no yellow lines existed and that there was not sign telling me not to do so.

Secondly: I might add that my car was parked, two offside wheels upon the grass by a foot, no more than.

I had chosen not to park in a space provided by the hospital, because there wasn't one available. Therefore it is my belief that I had not contracted to use one of their spaces, choosing instead to use an unmarked space, as I could do on any public road.

Threthowans are threatening to sue, however I feel that I'm in the right. Any views would be appreciated.

If you were parked on a kerb, were you blocking the pavement ?
There's usually plenty of spaces available at the hospital in the Multi-carpark.
