Please can anyone help with the best (mostconvenient) car hire firm at Orlando airport. Ideally a company that have their cars delivered to you at the airport.

Thank you for your help.

Not been for a while but used to use a UK broker or travel agent, someone like Netflights. UK firms usually include all the insurances and taxes etc. whereas if you book from a US site the insurance may not be so comprehensive. Gold or similarly named extra packages can be worthwhile if you need extra drivers etc.

Their prices seem to range from around £200 for 2 weeks for a basic car or an extra £60 for something like a Dodge Charger.

Most of the big companies, Alamo, Dollar have desks in the airport and the cars over the road in a car park, where you can pick any car from your chosen group, jump in and off you go.

Make sure you book it for the right 'Orlando Airport', some charters land at Orlando Sanford Airport which is a long way from Orlando International Airport

We used these guys for our west coast trip - you can choose your coverage, including fuel and therefore there is no hard sell on collection. If you choose dollar and sign up to their express club then you walk in, take your slip, walk out, choose your car and leave. it was effortless!

I am just about to book through them again for this year...

Most rental companies use the airport codes, make sure you know which one you are flying into.
    • Orlando International Airport = MCO
    • Orlando Sanford International Airport = SFB

Try the 'carrentals' comparison site. Martin has a link.

The choices and prices are very clearly laid out. Watch out for Dollar, though. Cheaper but cars tend to be older.

There are a number of companies which have desks at Orlando airport, and they are all used to dealing with British holidaymakers.

You can probably book via a cashback site too.

Both airports have cars already there. The rental offices are based at the airports. Found MCO to be better than Sanford.

I have used Dollar in the US many times but I think they have been bought by Hertz and all the cars seem to be very high milage and worn.I noticed on my last 2 rentals the key ring was a Hertz 1 symbol so I suspect Dollar are getting their cast offs.

Who every you go with signup for thier prefered customer scheme which is free. This allows you to go straight to the car park and pick up your car. Otherwise expect to stand in a long que for hours and then have a sales person upsell you all the addons etc...

This really does cut about 1-2 hours off the time it take at the airport to drive away in your rental!

I used Dollar and Avis prefered.

My prefered rental broker is usrentacar. Used them many times, hard to beat price wise and all insuance fuel polices are clear from the outset. There is usually a £5 off a week voucher if you do a bit of looking around.

    Enjoy your trip!
