  • That smiley described me exactly. They were supposed to be one a day at work for lunch. I asked LMG if she wanted a bag (malteasers) and she said no. I told her if she didn't have one then I was going to eat them all (I was already on the slippery slope, no getting off by that point) so she took one after all. That means I didn't eat the whole bag of bags myself ;) I think she thought there might be a bag or two left later. Pahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!! Does she not know me at all??
P.S. It was 4 bags I ate, I had eaten the others the day before. I am not so greedy as to eat all 8(?) bags in one go......

Yeah, I don't do the half bars of chocolate either. Once the packet is open I am worried it might get fluff on it or something... The big bars I wrap up and put in the fridge (because I physically cannot eat a whole one, plus I'm concerned about the whole migraine thing if I were to try).

I will need to pop to the supermarket after work just for fruit and bread. It's ok, I am self-disciplined enough to go in and get just that, I won't come out with £20 worth of stuff. We have everything else we need. Apart from chocolate now :o

  • Oh, meant to say, I save in my sealed pot towards Christmas every year. I only expect about £50 at the very most but it all helps. I save separately for Christmas in a joint account with my sis. The sealed pot is for my loose change. It's amazing how it adds up and I don't even notice not having it day to day :)

  • That'll be so handy for Christmas :)

And there was me casting dispersions on you about multipack munching....not eating them all AND offering them out. You are a saint really...I would call that iron will. I'd have eaten them all and hidden the packet, lol (well...in all seriousness, maybe at one time, I actually would have done this. Now I admit to DH immediately when I've had something I 'shouldn't')

Evil food fluff. Hate it. Also, how paper towel contaminates food when you leave it on it....

Hmm...time for me to be quiet I think before more of my random pet hates are exposed, lol x

  • I'm laughing out loud at your post gibby. I have eaten stuff and hidden the packets from LMG before. I struggle to put weight on but she doesn't. I have to eat more than the norm or I would fade away. I don't want her picking up my bad eating habits. She shakes her head at me when I am being piggy. I ain't no saint! Yesterday when I got home I got a spoon (teaspoon, that is) and helped myself to a (large) teaspoonful of nutella from the jar. The only reason LMG caught me was because I had a blob just under my bottom lip. Thing is, I felt it land there and thought I had licked it off!?! Was quite funny actually.

LMG quote: "I only want grapes if they taste like granny's grapes." My mum washes them and then gives them to her in kitchen roll.

Payday!! :j Pots have been shuffled. I hit the £500 target for the baby emergency fund. That will just sit there now until it is needed. I took it off my signature.

Managed to put £100.28 into the house deposit fund :)

I bought a dress which I can wear for sis's hen, 2 x Christmas nights out and Christmas day (and other places of course) so there is only £7 odds in the clothes budget now. I am ok with that though.

I have a few things on this month (October) so I will need to be [STRIKE]tight[/STRIKE] frugal to make sure that all the money stretches. It's LMG's birthday and I am going to spoil her. No point in denying it. I'm so excited though!! :p I am frugal/tight so that I can spoil her on her birthday.

I had to get cat food last night. We had literally none left. I also had to buy a bag of spinach as the one I had bought on Sunday was well out of date :( Why do these things have such a short shelf life? It was a use by date, not best before. I have to be careful as my body isn't like others' so if something is use by then I have to put it out. Ended up spending £14 as I bought cat food that will last longer than a few days but it just came out of the food budget. Means I only have £29 left though and the big shop is not until Sunday. I'll have to get creative ;)

This weekend: I am getting my hair done tomorrow. I honestly cannot wait. Not had it done since July and I am missing my treat (as is my hair). Sunday we are meeting up with LMG's wee bro and sis. She is looking forward to it. It will cost me a bit in petrol but we have 2 weekends this month where I won't be using the car so hopefully it will even its self out :)

I'll just be glad when this year is over so that I have money to play with again. It's not a bad year, just an expensive one! I am thoroughly enjoying all the things we are doing, they just all happened to come along at once!! :D

  • We had a lovely weekend but it was non-stop. I need a day off now.

I spent my whole week's £20 pocket money almost in one go! Luckily I don't need anything else pocket-moneywise this week. The 74p change went into my sealed pot.

£9.63 left in the grocery budget. I'm quite pleased with that. LMG and I worked out together what we need for the week, taking into account that we are out on Friday and Saturday night (sis's hen weekend). I will need to pick up milk at some point but we have some to be going on with.

I have money ready for the weekend but I am going to have to be tight. I will be the one sitting at the end of the table with my calculator out saying "but I didn't have dessert!" :o

  • The plans are going well for the weekend. Everything is falling into place nicely. I don't think I have any more to spend before Friday now (for the hen anyway, I am on lunch on Thursday with the friend). I need bus fares for LMG and myself but if I get a day ticket for us both that will be £5.50 and I won't have to worry about finding lots of change. I have money ready for meals and stuff on the Saturday too so hopefully it is all covered and I don't have to dip into another pot.

Off to the parents' for tea tonight. No idea what is for tea but it will be good anyway.

Spag bol planned for tomorrow night's tea.

Nothing planned for Thursday yet. We had planned lamb casseroly type thing but Asda had no lamb so I need to think up something else. Or I could pop to Morrison's for it... Will think about it.

1st October tomorrow. When did that happen??

I would happily eat it two days in a row but LMG would just moan her face off  I will be freezing it though and we will have it next week whether she likes it or not :D;)

Had to buy milk (and stuff :o) so £6.40 left in this week's grocery budget and £40 added today ready for next week. We *shouldn't* need anything else for the rest of the week (unless I have another chocolate craving :o:o honestly, I have eaten double my weight in chocolate this week - thought I was in for another migraine on Monday night but managed to avoid it, luckily). I think we are paying for pizza on Friday night but LMG and I will just share one to keep costs down and I will pay from the hen budget.

Is anyone else getting lots of those big spiders at home? We are averaging one every two nights at the moment. I got sick of going outside to release them and am now flushing them down the loo (sorry any spider lovers) so it's definitely not the same one. I don't have a major phobia but they do make me shiver a bit. I certainly can't leave one once I have seen it.

Boring lunch again today but I'm sure the weekend will make up for it! :D

Our house spiders are HUGE at the moment and far too bloody regular for my liking.

We don't flush or put them outside, they get crushed by the Bumper Book of Commando Comics or hoovered. I am severely arachnophobic - I've been up since 3am because I dreamt there was one in my bed  I wouldn't go back to bed until Mr Mooo had taken all the covers off the bed and checked them for Evil Beasts.

I'm drinking a lot of coffee today ;)
