Make everything from scratch
Dont buy processed food. Dont buy junk, Dont buy things out of habit, check whats on offer at the time
i feed a family of 5/6 on about £130 a fortnight, no budget brands, no lidl, no aldi, no scrimping
....and no health problems0 -
Buy the chipolatas instead, they are 12 to a pack on that offer. Most people would still only want 3 (as they are fooled by the number not the size) so you would have some left over that could be used in a pasta salad the next day.
I use this visual trick alot with sausages. In that if i make toad-in-the-hole, i make it in bun tins. A sausage chopped into 4 will then make 4 individual toads. Even my gannet of an OH can only manage 6 of these, which equates to 1.5 sausages. Whereas if i gave him whole sausages he too would expect 30 -

Thanks for that. Went to Morrisons today and bought two packs of best own brand ones. The chipolatas were the same length as normal sausages and half the thickness but instead of only six sausages they contained twelve. As everyone said, two packs for a fiver, and they were delicious!
Thanks again.0
