My Vodafone Nightmate!

Right where to start. Long story of misery with Vodafone, I'll try to keep it short but in essence I just want to leave them and wipe my hands of them.

Been with Vodafone for 7 years if not longer never really had problems until about a year ago when in my opinion their services across the board started to go down the toilet.

I have 3 contracts with them (one for me, partner and a friend who has rubbish credit) All total to well over £100 a month. Last year due to unemployment and the silly dates I was getting paid benefits I was forced to use a method of payment called "promise to pay" which i would give them a date I could pay and then payment was taken. I couldn't use a direct debit as couldn't stick to a specific date to pay.

7 or 8 times now (I've lost count could be more) they have disconnected my phones before a payment is due. Always get told and I quote that it's due to a "glitch", "the advisor didn't set it up properly" or"we're not sure what has happened". I am self employed now and back on my feet but I use promise to pay still as I am playing catch up on the dates.

I currently have a payment date set up for the 12/02/14 and when it was set up I confirmed to the advisor at the time that the disconnection date was changed and that I was not going to get cut off etc etc. Funnily enough on the 10/02/14 at 10:30 at night my handset got cut off AGAIN! Now when they cut off a handset you can't even ring up customer services as ringing that number is restricted. Again I have to use their live chat facility which just barely works. It involves going on their website and sitting refreshing the contact us page until an agent live chat is available. This took nearly an hour and felt like an eternity! After a lengthly chat phones were back on for a change. Normally I get told their closed, the departments not available and I have to wait till the next day so at least that was something this time.

Part 2 which is sort of related. When I first got our handsets from Phones4U we were sold 3 handsets that were all 4G signal compatible and were assured when 4G came out our handsets will work. My friend who lives closer to London now recently upgraded to 4G on his price plan and he found out his handset was not 4G but only the 3G model. Upon checking all 3 handsets were were 3G so essentially mis sold them. Been in contact with phones4U who have said sorry it was too long ago we're not doing anything. I have read up that the next step is try talk to Vodafone (which i haven't done yet)

I have all the transcripts from these live chats dating back months and months all showing negligence and error on their part. Do I have any grounds for canceling or getting out of my contract with them. I have never missed a payment date arranged. I am just beyond fed up with getting palmed off with a £5 credit here and there. It's just not good enough and surely they are breaking the terms of the contract their end? All I want is a bleeping phone that works as it should!

P.S. Sorry for the rant, just down in the dumps over all this now! :(

    Hi Glenn2109,

I'm sorry to read about your dissatisfaction with the level of service you've received.

In regard to the payment aspect of things I'd be happy to take a closer at this to see why arrangements haven't gone to plan.

To enable me to do so, could you email me with your details via the link in our profile here?

All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it'll take you to the Contact us form on our website. To make sure it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line?

Once sent you'll receive an automated reply with a reference number. So I can make sure I've got it could you update the thread with this and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?

In terms of the information provided to you about the phones supplied, I'm afraid you'll need to refer this back to the retailer.

    Kind regards,

    Lee
