While I'm in my cynical mode (and just before I bid you goodnight), I noticed earlier that Mr Sains. had reduced the price of the Belvita packs (£1 in A) from £2.50 to £1.50.

The cynic might say that, obviously, they were giving too much of a refund on brand matches when people (not us, but those who just pick up the packs regardless of their price - some people do pay £2.50) were putting them in their shopping (even though the amount being offset a bit elsewhere). Therefore, someone might say, reduce the price to £1.50 so that any (smaller) contribution to the BM is almost certainly outweighed by 'savings' elsewhere in people's shopping baskets, without having to match the price of Mr A on the Belvitas at all (it is, after all, the shopping basket/trolley and not individual items within it).

I shall be back (hopefully afternoon, albeit late but not hopefully that late, tomorrow to see if any glitching is going on - and then my plans may change/develop according to it) - might lurk just to check and then come back later tomorrow.

(Yes, I think my sig. isn't up to date - but will have to change that later.)

Happy savvy shopping - and goodnight!!:):)

so I have stopped blushing now and can admit my first visit to the gym on Sunday was very embarrassing!

Did induction at a small local gym but membership allows use of all council gyms.....so I decided to be brave and visit the bigger gym as it has a better pool - wanted to swim too.

So, parked the car with no major drama, dropped my bag in a big puddle and tripped up the step......but it was early sunday morning so noone saw right?

In I go......say to receptionist I would like to use gym and pool.....she points without looking and says 'gym up there pool over there' ...great thanks :D

up the stairs I go watched by all the people already in the gym on treadmills/bikes/weights through massive glass walls (why do gyms all need to have so much glass and SO many mirrors???and why are so many people in there at 730 on a sunday morning???)....straight ahead I see the gym doors.......so I push .....oh not opening....push the other one......ah locked......hmmmmm......oh entry thing on wall......swipe my card- nothing......swipe again .....nothing.....turn card over.....flashes green - quickly push door- darn it too slow......swipe again (by this time I have gained a new audience of gym members who are obviously bored with their machines!) push wrong door......swipe again (now blushing ) at last I gain entry to the gym :T:T

walk through second set of doors (without incident) look around.....hmmmmm where are the changing rooms???
Ask some random bloke ....he says 'back out there along corridor'.....ah ffffiddlesticks only just got in and have to go out again.......sure I heard a snort of giggles from the gym residents!

Now I walk back out towards doors that gave me so much trouble 30 seconds before.......I knew they were locked but tried them anyway - must be a release button eh?? turn to left and there on the wall next to me is a switch - push it CS !!!!!:T:T:T

    lights went out :o:o:o:o

I quickly turn the lights back on ......by this time I think some gym residents fell of their machines, weak from laughing- I just stood there mortified!

Random bloke gets off his weight machine thingy ...and presses another button to let me out - I havent even reached the !!!!!!! changing rooms yet!!!!

changing rooms- another swipe entry door.....mastered that one - I have become an expert by now!!!

Sit in changing rooms with head in hands deciding to go home:o:o:o trust me only the fact I have paid for this membership kept me there !

Managed the treadmill ok then tried the crosstrainer......struggled to climb on it (short legs!) then stood there pressing buttons to my hearts content .....nothing.....pushed some more buttons ...still nothing.....another gym resident takes pity and stops laughing long enough to tell me I have to start moving my feet to make it start......I mean really??? I just want to go home now!!!

Oohh, I have competition (in terms of post length):D:rotfl::rotfl:.

FC, you had me in stitches (not literally:D:D:D:D:D:D)(:rotfl:) earlier with your 'way with words' in the early part of the thread - I shall remember that:T:T.

    Evening,

Many thanks scamps :) for your kettle information.

I had a look this evening at the rapid boil kettles since ours had stopped working a while ago so this would have been great but the store (FB) had put a new barcode over the original one which scanned for £10 :( Although when I returned home Hubby voluntered to go to another store (CL) which he could only see the display model so he asked if they had any out the back which the assistant returned with one that had a reduced label on for £1.25, however upon going through the self service till the alarm sounded with message saying "removed from sale" but the lovely young assistant put it threw :j:j:j

(It is a Black Tesc0 Rapid Boil Kettle, origional barcode ends 4860)
is this the one? just googled to see what it looked like & this was the first hit http://www.which.co.uk/news/2013/07/tesco-rapid-boil-kettle-recalled-over-safety-fears-325431/

yes I did look at my post when I pressed submit button and thought ' oh dear I did go on a bit' then I looked up and saw your lengthy post and was relieved as people are more likely to read yours and I can get away with mine:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
