I have managed to catch up... with a bit of speed reading!.

Love Calmspirits trip to the gym! and giving special hugs to all those experiencing damage to their properties, I do love the way FC hubby helped to resolve this by suggesting a shopping trip! But I am shaking with shock by Zippy's comments in relation to English language! Now when I think of Zippy I will no longer imagine him laid in a neighbours garden drunk... it is as an English Professor! I am traumatised!!!

    :o:o:o:o:o:o

  • Had great post today - had complained to Dr O about getting their coupons accepted. Today I got through all 22 free pizza coupons printed on their own special paper with Dr O all over the back of it. Lets see my Asda get out of that one :D

Just want to thank you all for the Valentines Meal tips. Got one yesterday morning. My local T also had a huge handwritten sign up yesterday saying "all valentines flowers half price"

So sorry to hear again of lots of storm damage again. Think we've got off lightly again.

Still tidying up after last nights party. While I was off line I kept thinking I might be missing a mega glitch as the last time we had friends over I missed out on the big Boots glitch:o

Slightly disappointed to find a bottle of prosecco opened and untouched:eek: might have to resurrect that for tonight. Will give it a shake later:)

Can I also recommend the Finest mozzarella.......£2 gorgeous and creamy with a marshmallow texture inside. I ate a full one myself:o

Oh yes....got a £5 off a £25 till spit yesterday when I bought done cheesy biscuits in M&S. SA confirmed they were just random. So expect I was lucky. Won't be trying it with greenredeem until next weekend as we have a mountain of food to eat.

Just finally to make you smile. One of our guests announced that she never eats any preformed meat products...." As you never know what's in them". .........as she tucked into her lasagne:rotfl:

TM I hope you have popped a teaspoon in the bottle top, it keeps opened bottles fizzy. :D

Because I am such a light weight I have to use this old wives tale but it does work. ;)

Googling it seems it is meant to be a silver spoon. But I have never used one. :rotfl:

You can actually do 7 of the same word in a sentence

I'll see your seven and raise you eleven:)

James while John had had had had had had had had had had had a better effect on the teacher.

    or with punctuation

James, while John had had 'had', had had 'had had'; 'had had' had had a better effect on the teacher.

    or explained more fully

Two students, James and John, who are required by an English test to describe a man who, in the past, had suffered from a cold. John writes "The man had a cold" which the teacher marks as being incorrect, while James writes the correct "The man had had a cold." Since James' answer was right, it had had a better effect on the teacher.

Saw this explained on something like QI recently, also more info here

The deal is: 1 wine, 2 sides, 2 mains, 2 puddings for £20 (but the sides/desserts are interchangeable as far as the till is concerned).
The finest prosecco in the £20 deal gives a PP of £3.99, the mash in the £20 deal gives a PP of £2 each so you can get 3 of them plus one dessert to get maximum PP. AFAIK none of the other mains, sides or puddings compare/give a PP. HTH

Cheers for the info, much appreciated. Had to come off lappy as had family popped in, so cooked all a breakfast. Having a cuppy now then will get a move on for Mr T. Don't drink wine but my best friend does.

    Cheers xx
