    All to do with contract law where for a contract to be binding there must be a value associated with it, even if it is nominal.

    Hence, when celebrities do charity concerts etc, there is often a contract for the sum of £1 for their services.

    Why cant it be for a weed then? Then I could hire lots of people, and they could pick a week from my garden every year? :D
