Hey don't mock. You should see me in my costume. And when I knock on tenants' doors for rent I even get tips! And knickers.

Oh no, that's my Tom Jones suit.

I don't know about anyone else, but I feel photographic evidence is called for.

also if people have a outbuilding such as an annex

An annex which has a CT band is a dwelling in its own right, not an outbuilding.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Its a deliberate policy in a time of housing shortage to discourage landlords from keeping property vacant. Most councils also have schemes to help fix up property which isn't habitable for the same aim.

Also it maximises income so that councils don't have to hike CT bills every year. 10 years ago 10% annual increase in CT bills was the norm.

How can it be fair that you create another thread about something that doesn't affect most landlords?

How can this be fair local councils now charge landlords council tax if their property is empty even though they are not receiving a rental payment also if people have a outbuilding such as an annex their council tax will have increased from 2013 in order to charge council tax on any property that is owned but but a possible dwelling accommodation even if it is empty
    ?

So if your empty house where you are not getting rent, and you are paying a mortgage on, is on fire, you don't want the fire brigade to come out?
