What does the letter say exactly? (Just so we can determine what the interview is about)
  • it says
A work focused interview has been arranged to discuss the possibility of going back into paid work or training...

if its a work focused interview then its nothing to worry about.
its just an informal chat to see if theres any type of work that you feel you may or may not be able to do in the future, and if theres any courses available that you may be interested in

You only have to turn up to the interview. Whilst they may suggest college courses, you don't have to apply for them.

Not to scare the OP but it depends on the advisor how informal it is. Mine was very harsh on my last visit and was talking about sanctions!

OP - haven't you been switched to ESA yet?

Personally I would be telephoning them and explaining that you have MS, receive high rate Mobility/high rate Care of DLA.

You will probably still have to attend (take someone to support you if needed) but it will give them a 'heads up' that you need to see a Disability Support advisor (I think that is what they are called) and make them aware of your medical problems.

no, they will tell you when they are changing you to ESA.
at some point in any claim, most people claiming income support, carers allowance and people that are the partners of someone claiming ESA ( if they are included on the ESA claim) will be asked to attend work focised interviews
  • someone did suggest that to me do u think that would be ok to do ?
Actually it does say with a personal advisor....so would it be someone else?
again someone said surely an advisor wont understand my complicated illness treatment etc, i also have blood problems and am on warfarin...
