Argos Outlet on eBay - avoid

Well I just posted. What do you think about them stating its an Argos warranty when it isn't; when the laptop arrives they say you have to use D&H Henry?0
-
The Argos Outlet is advertising laptops/tablets with '12 Month Argos Warranty' however when I received mine, the warranty is with a third party outfit called D&H Henry who have mixed reviews. I think this is misleading of Argos as surely '12 Month Argos Warranty' means I should be able to deal with Argos, a recognised name, and not someone I've never heard of and who has some poor/terrible reviews (e.g. item returned in worse condition than when collected; inferior item used as replacement)?
(The laptop I ordered arrived scratched and with a foot pad and screw missing.)
Guessing that they do the repairs for all of Argos stock not just the outlet stuff. I hate to make your day even worse but a lot of well known companies sell a lot of different things that has their name on it but someone else runs it for them. If you are that worried then why not return it within the 14 days and buy from someone like John Lewis.0 -

Well I think its a bit of a cheek to play on the Argos name for the warranty when you then have to deal with some unknown third party. Most people find Argos good for exchanging/repairing things so the 'Argos' guarantee has some goodwill value which a D&H Henry guarantee does not. They should not, in my opinion, be marketing an 'Argos' warranty when it isn't.
Anyway interested to hear of anyone's experience with the outlet warranty route via D&H Henry.0 -

I suppose they can't warranty the outlet stuff in the same way as the store stuff.
You don't have to shop there you know..."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

What a stupid comment. The fact is I DID shop there because of their misleading claim that there was a 12 month ARGOS warranty. Now I know that is false I probably won't shop there again. Just warning people and asking for any other experiences.0 -
God forbid companies using other names..0

Yes well they should jolly well use the 'other' name in their advert in the first place then shouldn't they. Argos knew exactly what they were doing. In fact it is not simply another name, the guarantee is with a third party company; not Argos at all.0
