Argos Outlet on eBay - avoid

Last year I received two completely duff Android Tablets from Argos on eBay - these are claimed to be 100% ok - they were def well not. These two went back and they were slow but I did get a refund in the end.
Next I thought that things might have improved and ordered another tablet recently - its also duff. But this time they expect me to go through the rigmarole of using the eBay Refund Resolution "Service".
Last October I spoke to some others who had been sent duff tablets and when they spoke to an Argos Rep on the phone they admitted that most of the tablets they were sending out were duff and it was pot luck if you got one that worked. So not 100% ok then are they?
I didn't leave any negative feedback before, but I will this time.
I am wondering if I'll have to recover this money through the courts (I'm legally qualified) - anyone on here had to do this with an eBay seller?
Thanks, Roy

Why would you have to go through the courts? Just open a ebay/paypal case as you're meant to and Argos told you to and they'll refund you. It's there for a reason.
Why buy another after receiving two duff ones? Why not just buy from elsewhere? Not sure why you didn't leave negative/neutral feedback before if you weren't happy. Still, if you leave it this time then that will warn other buyers and they can make an informed decision about whether or not to buy from them.
Argos is a genuine company and they have thousands of sale. Sure, warn others to be aware that some tablets may not be up to scratch but why tell people to avoid the whole Argos Outlet on ebay? Sure there are plenty of items that are perfectly fine.
Depending on the tablet, some tablets are just pretty cheap and rubbish but various places still sell them. The quality of the stock, especially new stock, is not the fault of Argos or any other company selling it it's the fault of the manufacturers. Argos probably just want rid of them which is why they're selling them off through the Argos outlet on ebay.0 -
Why pay to go through the small claims court when you have the resolution service available which will be less time consuming and pretty straight forward.0

yeah go thru the courts and have your day if thats what you want
totally pointless rant thats not at all truthful0 -
Just use the process that ebay / paypal have in place and that will be it. Not everything from Argos outlet is to be avoided as the thousands of feedback per month show.
Me, i ordered a recon laptop which arrived and was the wrong one, raised a case, Argos paid for the return and I was refunded. Payment to refund in 5 days cant complain at that.
Ordered another laptop and it arrived within 22 hours of ordering, again advertised as recon but it was brand new still factory sealed with factory warranty and at a great price.
So no need to tell people to avoid based on your experience, just use the resolution process and leave appropriate feedback.Thoughts:

It didn't work. You got a refund. It happens. Argos sell so many items on Ebay it is bound to have a few dodgy ones. Personally I have had more trouble using Argos in store than I have their Ebay outlet.0

I had a problem with a Chromebook I bought a week or two back, and I just e-mailed them a 'Returns' message, and they directed me to CollectPlus to print a returns label. They didn't ask me to raise a Case.0

returning a laptop to argos outlet was probably one of the least problematic returns I have had to make after an ebay sale.
on the phone they were very helpful, paid for the return and refunded in good time.Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow..

The Argos Outlet is advertising laptops/tablets with '12 Month Argos Warranty' however when I received mine, the warranty is with a third party outfit called D&H Henry who have mixed reviews. I think this is misleading of Argos as surely '12 Month Argos Warranty' means I should be able to deal with Argos, a recognised name, and not someone I've never heard of and who has some poor/terrible reviews (e.g. item returned in worse condition than when collected; inferior item used as replacement)?
(The laptop I ordered arrived scratched and with a foot pad and screw missing.)0 -
LOL! I was going to respond to the OP but then realised this thread is 5 months old. Looks like the OP was too embarrassed to come back and reply0
