emergency spend on barclaycard £0 month interest free... what gets paid off first?

Options
Ive currently got a 30month interest free balance transfers barclaycard but in an emergency used to make a purchase. so do the repayments go towards paying off the purchases and the interest rate on them and then once finished the balance transfer.

eg £1000 balance transfer @ 0% and £500 purchases

so could i transfer to another card and then back to barclaycard ? @ the 30 month interest free?

  • The higher rate balance.

Whether it's worth paying another 2 x 3% for the BT (assuming it is still open) depends on how long it would take you to pay off.

    It depends on

    1. How long you will take to pay off the £500. If its only 2-3 months for example then it will be cheaper just to leave it on there and pay it off monthly than to pay 2 balance transfer fees.

    and

    2. If Barclaycard will even offer you a balance transfer deal. The 30 months will only be available for a certain time after opening the account (e.g. 60 days)
