Could be anything... really need the fault code. But the spanner, although requires looking at, isn't necessarily going to be anything major! So don't worry just yet anyway. Take it in to be looked at.0 -
Do not ignore the light, either:
If the car is under warranty speak to a main dealer
or
If it's not under warranty go to an independent garage, get recommendations from friends. This will save you getting shafted by main stealer prices.0 -
You presume it is.
For all you know op bought it privately and the manufacturer don't transfer warrantys.
I thought they just didn't transfer the extended 100,000 mile warranty beyond the first owner. Their warranty page certainly suggests all cars get the three year warranty regardless of number of owners

Otherwise, pre-reg vehicles and ex demos would be being offered without warranty which makes no sense.0 -
I tried post 6, but it didn't work.
Took it to the garage this morning, and they said it's the turbo thats goosed.
It's getting replaced tomorrow FOC as under warranty
Bit annoyed though as it;s not even two years old yetMember #179 -The 'Save 12k in 2014' Challenge £1740/£50000 -

Bloody hell!
Thats severe.
BUT, at least its under warranty and being covered. :beer:0 -
And it probably isn't the whole turbo, but in terms of cost of a warranty claim it is probably cheaper to replace a single part.
I would be asking for a full and complete detail of what exactly has happened. Next time it may be out of warranty and turbos aren't cheap.
Also ask why it happened. You haven't said which model of Corsa, but depending on type and driving style you can have ongoing problems with turbo cars.0 -
I thought it sounded severe - to be honest, I'm not actually sure what the turbo does.
The dealership also told me that I will be receiving a letter from Vauxhall soon as there is a recall on my car due to the bonnet not having any drainage, as it may cause corrosion/rusting? SO while it's in the garage they are going to drill a hole for water to drain., .??
Googling it sounds like the Turbo is a well know fault on a 1.3 Cdti corsa'sMember #179 -The 'Save 12k in 2014' Challenge £1740/£50000
