Signal on the Nexus 5
I've been looking at getting a Nexus 5 recently, but looking on various forums I see quite a few people have reported poor/no signal in otherwise adequate signal areas.
I was wondering if this affects many users, or just a few who might have faulty hardware etc?
After coming from a HTC One to an LG G2 and finding that had much poorer signal for me (albeit that may have been a faulty device), it would be nice to know what the N5 is like before buying.
Thanks

Same internals as the G2 excluding an ever so slightly different MP camera, battery size and a different body shell.0

Mine is better than the Nexus 4 and Nexus S I had before. I'm posting from it now, in the countryside!0

Thanks for the responses
Never realised it had the same internals as the G2, although that would make sense. Nice to hear it works out in the sticks though!"Kids respect landlords. I think it's the keys."0 -
Nowt wrong with the Nexus 5's antenna, I'd have noticed by now if there was!0

Cheers
although it's probably the same for most phones, googling 'nexus 5 signal' comes up with loads of threads of people complaining about weak signal - thought it might be a issue with the model in general.

I have a 32gb nexus 5 and it's certainly no worse than previous phones. Certainly not a problem that I have noticed0

No issues my end, using 02. There are a couple of times when I've not had a signal in some areas when I feel like I should have - just turned off and on again and it seems to pick one up easily.0

Not sure if people are confusing the microphone issue with poor signal, but not had any signal issues on my N5 yet, but there have been some issues with the 2nd microphone on top of the phone used for noise cancelling as there is apparently some software issue causing this function to over compensate and make speech less clear - i have put tape over my 2nd mic which seems to improve it a bit but hopefully there might be a software fix for this before too long.0

I did spot some threads on the Google forum of people complaining about signal issues, saying that the signal on the N5 was much weaker than their previous handsets - however such a thread probably exists for every phone on the market. My G2 had dire reception compared to other handsets I've had, however looking at the reviews mine may have been a faulty unit."Kids respect landlords. I think it's the keys."0

To save you switching your phone off and on, just put it in airplane mode then switch the airplane mode off again. This will save you time and your battery and does the same thing :beer:0
