Tesco Direct - returning open product

Does anyone know the returns policy for Tesco Direct? I've bought a phone for someone as a gift, however I'm not certain as to what the precise details are regarding returns of opened goods. (When I say opened, I mean simply if the box has been opened with the product not/barely used).

Having a look on their website, it states "please retain and return the original packaging, tabs, labels and accessories. Please also package the product securely before returning it." This to me suggests they will accept returns for goods which have been opened, as long as all the packaging is retained. Can anyone help or speak of their own experience?

NOTE: I am not referring here to Tesco Mobile, but to Tesco Direct - two different things!

I've returned something to them opened before and they didn't bat an eyelid, if they do moan just state distance selling regulations (as long as within 7 days).

So is it unused or 'barely used'?
Did they/you insert the SIM and switch it on?

Currently unused, and not even turned on yet. However the 'void' seal label has been removed in order to open the box.

The phone itself runs on the Windows Phone operating system, and my friend says he doesn't know if he's too keen on it which is why we've held off actually turning it on and using it in case we are able to return it. I didn't know he felt this way until I'd bought it!
