  • Good news on cutting the hours HB..excellent progress on your payments, you are doing so well. Will be wonderful to see you enter the £40K's.

    Keep going.
  • Thanks INOD and sweetpea. I've said the four day week plan out loud now and want it to happen as soon as possible. Just hope the work bosses agree. I will write the letter today.
Had a phone call from T@sco Bank yesterday. Didn't pick up, but it must be from the 'reduce the payment' letters that went out last Friday. Nothing from anywhere else yet. Maybe I'll get a response today?

Good luck with your plan to drop to a 4 day week HB. One word of caution though - I did this at one stage and ended up doing exactly the same amount of work for a reduced salary, simply because the work was still there to be done and there was nobody else there to do it :( I went back to full time after a while as it seemed pointless - if a meeting was held on a day I wasn't in for example, the pressure would be there to go in anyway.

Not sure what sector you are in, but do take care that this doesn't happen to you!
  • I hear what you're saying DawnW and it would probably be the same for me, but I already work long hours everyday. Reducing to four days means I could switch off from work on one day a week at least. I would do nothing at all work related on the day off and use time much more effectively on the days in work. I'm telling my employer on Monday, I've decided and will aim to start the new working pattern after Easter. They can't complain I haven't given enough notice if I do that and it's enough time to get myself used to the idea. I've also decided to start saying 'no' a bit more often!

  • Hi Puzz. I'm very close to retirement age on my scheme, so reducing hours won't make that much difference to my pension. I'd rather have the time TBH.
No word from any of the predators today re reduced payments.

  • Trying hard with the no spend days. Eight days to go till payday and I'm only buying absolute essentials till then. I'm hopefully going to end this month with around £100 left in the bank. A huge achievement after Christmas and all. Still no word yet from the predators regarding my reduced payment letters.
Four weeks to go until I take father on a little jaunt. Looking forward to it...he's already planning the next one! He is well and active at the mo, so all is well so far.
Two work days to get through until the weekend. The more I think about it, a four day week becomes more appealing!

  • Letter from T@sco bank to ring them to discuss the loan account. I wrote to them, surely they could write back in answer to my letter! I might ring to see what they say.
Just switched energy suppliers today because fixed term deal is coming to an end in Feb. I think I will save around £290 a year! Last year when I started money saving I was paying £175 per month for gas and electricity. I got that down to £111 for the last year and the latest deal is £84! Mad!

  • Massive fail on the reduced payment front with T@sco. They wouldn't allow some of the spending categories, so the payment stays the same. They did say though that the account was being passed over to recoveries and default issued. They also said that as long as the payments keep coming that's where it would stay. I.e. No further action. No word from any of the others yet.
Thank goodness it's the weekend. Have a good one everyone.

T3sc0s have always been one of two bothersome predators for me. You'd swear it was the member of staff who was owed the money. Honestly they make my blood boil.

Hope you get more joy with the others x
