Well, had a great time at the seaside. The sun was out and it was really lovely. We didn't go mad eating out etc. Bought wine etc and had picnics and BBQ. Had a very relaxing time.
Had to go into the buffer amount, but aiming to put it back and add £50 to it this month. Payday was yesterday...hurrah! So I will update the payments tomorrow.
Whilst away, though I had a few calls from one of the banks. It wasn't a person, but a disembodied mechanical voice asking me to verify who I was and put in security details etc. Needless to say I was not happy about this! Surely, if they want to speak to me they could at least have a person making the calls and not a machine! I will call the bank on Tuesday to find out what they want, but will let them know I think it is well out of order. I refuse to communicate with a machine!Feb 2014 to now

Hi Historybuff, as you were away from home and spending, your bank may just need you to verify your transactions, as they were unusual activity. It happens to me all the time whenever my spending pattern is different from my normal spending. It is to prevent fraud on my Bank Account, so I welcome all of the disembodied phone calls and text messages I usually get to verify my spending.
I am glad to hear you had a really good and relaxing time at the seaside. You are discovering that having a good time doing leisure activities or taking a break, does not have to be overly costly to be fun0 -
Thanks all. I'm definitely giving the bank a ring later today to see what they want. It's one where I have CC and a loan, so it may be they want to review the payment plan. It's due about now.
So, went out to a friends BBQ on Sun and was nursing the mother of all hangovers yesterday. It's a very long time since I have felt so rubbish, I can tell you. Anyway, feeling back to normal today, ready to tackle the big list! The four weeks till next payday are going to be a massive challenge. It's OH birthday, we have a weekend away with friends and I have to get hotel and travel booked for my father's October visit to London for a concert that I got him last Christmas. Added to that, I got tipsy on Sunday and invited a load of people over to celebrate OH birthday this Friday! Arggggh! I have got three days to get the downstairs of my house up to scratch!
I so need the weather to perk up so I can get some more cash from selling some stuff at a carboot.
I must admit I am a bit worried about how I'm going to get through this month, so I need to sit down now and do the budget very carefully. The money has to last another 28 days.Feb 2014 to now

I've made a start. Father came up trumps and paid for the hotel and train fare for the October London trip and I will pay my half to him from my September salary. 'Golden ticket' concerts booked. Hallway cleared. Standing back and having a hard look...it's so scruffy! I hadn't realised how down at heel everything looks. I'll see what it looks like later on when I've given everything a good scrub and polish. Carpet will definitely have to be cleaned, though. The curtains are awful. I think I've had blinkers on for ages and ignored the state of it. Aim for the end of today...kitchen, room and hall all sparkling and minimal. Carboot tomorrow with the clutter if the weather holds up. Aiming for at least £50.Feb 2014 to now

Wow youre really going for it. Wish I had the decluttering gene
seems to have passed me by. I promise I will make a start soon, so much for having all summer to get sorted, dont know where the time has gone. Good luck with the car boot sale.
