Again, just need some time lol x
No you dont. You can register now and claim WTC from now on top of child credits if you "work" 16 hours. This can be building a business not direct client work and earn WTC.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0 -

OMG ! Why did I not think about this before? I spend more than 16 hours a week working on my portfolio and already have my business set up and do a self assessment for it. I just never thought of claiming for it aswell.
Thank you so much
you have helped loads. Another thing on the list! x 0 -

It's not going to be a lot approx £50 a week my estimate but pays out quickly.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0 -
I've just done an estimator and I can possibly get something like £80 extra per week for claiming WTC while I'm working on my business. :eek:0

It's just an idea. I normally don't like maximising benefits but I'm also a CPN and saw how close to breaking point you are.
But do address long term plans and see your GP if things get too much.
Good luck.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0 -

Not sure what a CPN is, but you're my second :A
of the day.
Don't worry, I'll be paying back as much of these "benefits" as I can when I start working again. I've worked since I was 15 [apart from maternity leave with my three kids] and have only not worked since July 2011. I even worked for two months last year and paid taxes. I also feel the need to point out that I'll leave uni with £35k+ debt so not all of my money is "free"...lol
Also, am under a counsellor and the GP so they have me under "control" and medicated. lol.x0 -

Granted, you didn't say you buy one every week but it is logical to conclude from the following that you do:AngelPie78 wrote: »I am more than content with a cheap bottle of plonk once a week, a couple of coffees out with my yummy mummy or uni friends and maybe a small budget for yarn or scrapbooking supplies.

Mental health nurse for short but don't dispel my benefit bashing status
Good luck but really once short term is sorted get long term under control and these guys know their stuff. Taking frustrations out on them won't do any good long term, though I see your immediate short term needs addressing before you get to that point. If I thought you were a "waster" I'd never suggested WTC.
Anyway I'm bowing out as no nothing about debt as I'm a saver and don't get it, so will leave you in hands of the experts.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0 -

Taken out of context for the second time. I was saying it as that would be my ideal situation. A bottle of plonk every week, coffees with my friends and craft supplies. The ideal situation not that I do it every week! Though after the day on here, I wish I had some wine!! hahahaha
assumptions again. lol0 -

Hehe I WISH you were in my life and could sprinkle some of your "saving dust" on me. Thanks so much for your help.
You really saw what I needed and helped me [and the kids] out. I might even put some of the WTC into my dusty savings account in your honour!
