Roku tv?

Anyone have any experience of this service? I've only just heard of it. Seems like a freeview box of sorts. Naturally, you then sign-up to packages and channels from various providers if you want them. I don't subscribe to any sports or film channels etc, so it might be worth a move perhaps.

Depends what you are after. There's more than one Roku, BTW.

You'll need unlimited Broadband to make the most of it.

If you don't need the vast number of obscure channels, see also the Now TV box, which is cheaper.

You need a reasonably fast & consistent unlimited broadband connection - at least 3mb/s for standard TV and 5-6mb/s for HDTV anything less will drive you mad

It's nothing like freeview. It's got BBC, Channel 4 and Channel 5 catchup, but really it comes in to it's own with Netflix and Now TV. If you've got lots of media on your home network, then Plex is awesome which is the main thing I use mine for.

Apart from the above most of it is garbage.

    So reasons to get one:

    BBC, ITV, C4 catchup
    Now TV
    NetFlix
    Plex

If you don't need 1080p then a Now TV will suffice for £10 and will do all of the above except Netflix.
