I'm kinda stuck on the wording...

I've looked at sample wording online and can't really figure it out. Who is "the host"?

Our wedding is being paid for by my hubby to be and my Mum. I assume thats what they mean by the host?

How on earth do I word it?

Thanks :o

The hosts would be who is paying for it, so traditionally the brides parents. As we are paying for our wedding we worded it "x and y request the pleasure of your company to celebrate their marriage" rather than "mr and mrs x cordially invite you to the wedding of their daughter z to w"

Hope that alphabet example makes sense! X

The brides parents traditionally issue the invitations. But you can differ if you wish. 6 weeks in advance. Who do you want them to RSVP to?

Thanks. We'll be asking people to RSVP via a website (saving paper, postage and our disorganised selves losing them!)... and the data will be sent to my email address.

All the wording templates seem to be just for the brides parents paying...would it look like it was just my mum paying for it if the invites were from her?

    "The honour of your presence
is requested at the marriage of
    ME to HIM"

Would that be seen as a snub to my Mums financial contribution?

Why don't you discuss it with your Mum? Say why you chose that wording and ask would she be offended? We used Vistaprint, thy delivered really quickly and the invitations are lovely x

You could just have something like:

Jane and John (surnames if you like)
are invited to the wedding of
Susan and Peter (surnames if you like)
    on (date)
    at (venue)
and afterwards at (if different venue)

    RSVP to: (email address)
    by: (date)

I don't think the guests need to know who is paying!

    thankyou :)

I will talk to hubby to be and also my mum!

If it was down to me, everyone would just know telepathically when and where our wedding is :P

How would I write that our wedding is at 2:30pm on Sat 23rd August 2014 in words? Like "half past two". I'm terrible with grammar!

The time doesn't need to be "in words" - putting 2.30pm is fine, and understood by everyone.
