Virgin Money and new Bank Statement policy

I have had a current account with Northern Rock/ Virgin Money for nearly 30 years, also a mortgage.
Not long after takeover my bank statements were altered from being sent on completion of a page to once a month. No great problem, at most 50 transactions a month would go trough my account.
But since December no bank statements have arrived. I contacted them a couple of weeks ago and was told i would have my account altered back to monthly statements as it was a system default....still no statement and today i am told it is a new policy and that when i signed up for the account i must have ticked a box requesting quarterly bank statements!! Really, 30 years ago, i don't think so.
So now without an online current account i haven't a clue what transactions have gone through my account without a long phone call to check they match those i expect.
After 30 years of loyalty i will now have to find a new account and go through all the worries that everything is transferred correct;y.
No notification of the change was made - a very arrogant approach from Virgin Money.

Is it an account that can be viewed online? If so why don't you just sign up for online banking? It's not one of the better ones but it does the job.
And if you do decide to switch there shouldn't be too much to worry about with the new 7 day switching process.0 -
Hi thanks for that.
That is the problem, Virgin Money don't offer an online Current Account. They tell me it is "imminent". But 18 months ago i was told it was imminent then and would be opened early in 2013. now testing it on staff i believe but they should have waited until the account was up and running.
As a matter of principle i have no option really.0
