Would you prefer them to test it or to return it to you? If they test it and find an underlying fault, the it can be fixed.
Yes I do. On another note-This purchase was not for a used car. I Purchased a new-bought in good faith and parting a lot more money for a purported to be brand new car!!I'll betcha the next message is complaining that they've put some miles on the clock...
With all due respect to you AdrianC, don't take me wrong but one will only know the pain if one has it...
A same sensor to fail twice within 6 weeks in a brand new car beggars belief0 -
If it was the exact same failure,
I am not a car mechanic but the same part needed the change. I presume it is the exact same failure. This my humble opinion. On the contrary if it is different fault then the car is not sold as what was claimed "new" but-riddled with a lot more faults. Where do I stand with a multiple faults purported to be new? That is my anxiety.
Can you help me finding this anyway? I would be very thankful to you.

Once again - and for the last time... Modern cars are incredibly complicated, with mechanical and electronic layers of technology working together. There are many, many possible explanations for the two different-but-related issues you've seen. The original MAP sensor may have been a symptom, not the cause. The replacement sensor may have failed. This is what the warranty on the car is for. The dealer appear to be doing everything right.Where do I stand with a multiple faults purported to be new?
Is there the slightest evidence that the car is not new? Or do you think "new" is somehow a guarantee that there will be no faults at all for some pre-ordained period of time?0 -
I would suggest there is a slit difference between 2 faults and "riddled with faults", but then again hyperbole are the best way of getting reactions.
I've bought a few new cars in my time and had a few issues with them. It's better that they go wrong at the start than after 4 years. The least reliable car I owned was a Renault which was perfect when I bought it and ran great for a couple of years before it started going wrong. The most reliable car I've had went back to the dealer twice in the first three weeks, and then didn't put a foot wrong until I sold it five years later.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -

Hello Ultrasonic,New does not mean that there will be absolutely no faults.
It appears if I have touched something too sensitive? your replies seems to suggest otherwise.
Have I upset you in any way by putting my situation across? I am sorry if that is the case.
Should I have posted in another part of moneysaving expert? or Do you work for Honda.

Nope, not sensitive at all. I work for the NHS, not Honda.
I posted what I did as you appear to feel your car is somehow not new? So far as I can tell you have no evidence of this being the case and so trying to base some sort of consumer rights complaint on the basis of it not being new makes no sense.
If what you mean is that you are simply not happy that a new car has faults then that is totally understandable, but a different matter to suggesting that it is not new. (It may be you simply didn't express yourself clearly, but there is a big difference.)
I also posted what I did as it is unreasonable of you to expect a new car to come with a guarantee that absolutely nothing will go wrong. This may be what many people expect but it is not reality. You need to accept this. BUT you do have every right to expect the matter to be resolved fully and in a timely manner.
Fingers crossed that you get your car back later this week, all will be well, and you can think no more about it.0 -
There is no further progress. I've heard nothing since Wednesday evening.0
