Vodafone K3565 Unexpiring Dongle

Hi
a few years ago I purchased a Vodafone K3565 dongle to access the internet.
Its particularly good as the credit on it doesnt expire.
My Dad was so impressed he got one as well.
However, for a few days now everytime I use it to logon, all i can get is a page telling me I need more credit (even tho there is £8 credit on it already).
Anyways, my Dad has the same problem, so went into the Vodafone shop in Sunderland today, to be told that Vodafone has cancelled the K3565 dongle.
No warning, nothing.
Can they do this, does anyone know please?

I'll give them a friendly call when I'm back at work on Tue to see what they can do for me be it a discount [dongle balance] off my phone contract or a newer mobile broadband dongle. Just have to see...

No Joy other than getting it activated to use remaining credit subject to 30 days... Just going to toss it in the bin and use my EE phone as a hotspot instead. Cheers0
