Delay flight compensatio - First Choice

Hi, After seeing Martins segment on this morning I have looked into a delay we had in 2008.

The holiday was booked with First choice and the flight was firstChoice airways but we had a Thompson aircraft. I have since learnt that first choice airways and thompson airways have merged. this would explain why it was always an thompson plane.

Who do I send my compensation request to ???

We were originaly schedules to fly at 12.30 pm on the 02/07/08 but due to a technical fault with the aircraft we were delayed until 10.00am 03/07/08.

First choice put us up in a hotel overnight and provided evening meal and breakfast but we had to pay for anything else and with 4 children and 3 teenagers in the party this was quite costly.

I have our original booking confirmation/invoice, some of the boarding passes and also have the letter given to us from first choice stating that our flight was delayed due to a technical fault with the aircraft and would be unable to fly until the next day.

Sorry for the long post, any advise would be greatfully recieved
