Hi all not posted on here for a while don't know if anyone i still on here from when i posted
Me and my wife had been trying for 3 years under the assisted conception unit most of you will know what it's like blood tests every month, tests being done all the time and it puts strain on your life even though you don't see it at the time when everyone is saying relax (you even say it yourself 'if it happens it happens') but it does
We have both been together for 10 years and decided in Dec last year to get married so we set a date 21st June 2014 now we had an appointment to get the ball rolling on the 3rd July on the ivf but there was a problem i had an interview and got a new job starting on the 1st July so we changed our appointment to August but my wife had enough clomid and progynova (sp?) so took it for that month.
We went on our honeymoon to Bruges and it was like we had just met all over again we didn't have a care in the world we both talked and decided that ivf was the only way forward, I started my new job and was waiting to see what steps was next but mid July i had a hard week at work and she went out with her parents i had fallen a sleep early only to be woke up with a + test i couldn't believe it
All them months and years of seeing my wife upset and it did with me was all gone we was on the phone to my mum at 1am which she wasn't happy with at first untill we told her and rang the in laws went and had a 7 week scan and saw the heart beat going which was the best feeling in the world.
Now we are at 23-24 weeks and are having a boy with the wife bossing orders at me to get this done and that done in the house which is brilliant.
The point of me posting this is i got told lots of times 'it will happen' and it doesn't feel like it most of the time and you think people are being nice but it will and the worst thing is you are both stressed without knowing it, I know it's hard but you got to keep going it will all be worth it in the end2010 Super League Grand Final Winners :beer:0 -
Ah Wigan, what a lovely post.

AFM I decided to brave it today...http://www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test-gallery/image.php?galleryid=341105
Feeling a teeny tiny bit more real now. I've seen my consultant who has changed my thyroid medication to a baby friendly one and I've got my first midwife appointment on Thursday!
I would just like to say thank you to everyone on this amazing thread for the advice and support you have given me on this emotional journey. No one in real life knows we have been TTC, or even that we have a BFP....I'm too scared to jinx it!....so you guys have been a lifesaver. You all know how I feel at different stages, so it has been fab to have you guys who are going through exactly the same feelings and emotions. You are all amazing and I have my fingers firmly crossed, and am throwing loads of baby dust your way, in the hope you will all get your BFP soonMassive thanks to Kellykins for doing the daily lists and Mrs_T_M for doing the front page lists. You are both amazing giving up your free time to support and help us all
.....and thank you to every one else for being there :T
If it is ok with you lovely ladies I will continue to lurk here. Firstly because I am sure this is a dream and I will wake up soon, or that something is going to go wrongBut mainly because I want to see how you are all getting on
Now in case anyone was wondering if I did anything different this month....I took some advice from some lovely ladies here. I started taking Robitussin (red bottle where the only active ingredient is guaifenesin) 3 times a day from about 5 days pre ov, on the day of ov and up to two days afterwards, to thin my cm. I also ate 5 Brazil nuts each day from CD1. Not sure if either helped but worth a shot. I only DTD three times in my fertile period this month CD11,14 and 17, with positive opk on CD14. Obviously I'm not sure what day I conceived on, but one online calculator predicts around November 2nd, which was CD17. I've never continued DTD after ov in previous months, so definitely worth continuing to BD for a few days after ov if you have the energy! And finally symptoms......from a few days after ov, until about 7dpo I had sensitive nipples, and nothing else. The sides of my boobs became sore a couple of days before AF was due, which was usual and I had my usual pre AF cramps, but nothing else that would have made me think anything other than AF. Still today I am pretty symptom less. My boobs are still slightly sore, and I have now started to get a few mild low pelvic cramps, but no nausea etc etc, which is why it feels more unreal. So I am still knicker twitching. Not sure this will stop anytime soon!!
Thank you one and all *hugs*0 -
Wishing you all the best Snapping.
Don't worry about lack of symptoms - I had none with DS and no nausea at all which was a godsend when I look at some of my mates who have had horrendous sickness and have had a really hard time.
Hope you have a great 9 months and before you know it little one will be here0 -
So nice to hear your story Wigan, and a big congratulations
All the best for the next 9 months, and beyond, Snapping!
Welcome to any newbies too!
Had a lovely weekend with OH, which ended in me having the worst headache I've ever had!
Now lying on my sofa still suffering from this headache, sore boobs and feeling really sick and light headed. 11DPO and a BFN so we'll see what happens this week. Our Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016
