So I caved in and tested this morning. A massive blank square window, that kind of looks super-negative, was my reward. :( wasn't really expecting to see a bfp but...
Starting to feel due on now so think I may be out this month. We'll see.

I caved yesterday and got a bfn but like you I wasn't expecting anything from it - 8dpo now so I'm guessing too early?

I suppose I was wanting to see how these cheap tests I bought worked as they're the dipsticks not mid-stream.

  • Mrssippi, when I had my most recent miscarriage the tests became negative pretty much as soon as the bleeding started, your situation is different in that you are still showing a strong positive which is a very good sign. The bleeding you experienced a few weeks ago, could it have been implantation bleeding?
With my first pregnancy I had some light bleeding at six weeks and had a scan we could see the heartbeat flashing then and all was well with that pregnancy.
    Good luck with everything xx

Thanks so much for the reply. I can't be 100% but I am as sure as I can be that it wasn't an implantation bleed. Admittedly I didn't get it all with my last pregnancy but the bleeding I had didn't tally with the symptoms of implantation bleeding at all and the GP wasn't convinced it was that either.

Did you have your scan at 6 weeks? I just want to prepare myself a bit for what I might expect to see (i.e. if it isn't possible to see a heartbeat at 6 weeks anyway I don't want to freak out if there isn't one on the screen!)
  • MrsSippi, have you been using the digital tests, if it is going up in weeks pregnant, ie 1-2, 2-3, 3+ then that is a good sign in my book. When I had my MC earlier this year once the bleeding started it didn't really stop for quite a while, it was on and off for 4 days (just tissue smears) before (sorry, can't think of a nice way to put this next bit) there was a big gush and I knew that was it. If your bleeding has stopped I'd be hopeful.
  • Got everything crossed for you MrsSippy.

I had a bleed with my 1st at about 6 weeks and the Dr I saw tried to convince me that as it was my 1st pregnancy that it would be a miscarriage. Had to do the blood tests to check if my hormones were still increasing and then I had a scan which showed that there was a second sack which is where the blood was coming from and my DD was perfectly fine. A bleed doesn't always mean bad news.

Try not to worry hun or you'll get yourself all worked up by the time the scan comes (easier said than done I know)

    Good luck xxxxx

Thank you. I think I have gone past the stage of getting myself worked up (had a bit of a cry over the weekend) and just keen to have the scan now so I know for sure. I think the not knowing is the worst thing.

Thanks for the reply. No, I haven't been using the digital tests, but the result has been coming up quicker each time I have done the test which I suppose is good. The GP did say that she was erring in the side of caution with the scan and thankfully there has been no bleeding at all since the positive result so hopefully everything is ok, it is just really hard waiting. I don't even know how long it would take to get an appt for the scan.
  • Yes my scan was pretty much exactly 6 weeks and although you couldn't see a great deal, you could see the flashing on screen of the heart beat.
  • Hi all,

Just popping in to let you all know I got my BFP at the weekend. OH and I are tentatively excited, scared etc, but excited nonetheless.

Took us 1 month of temping to conceive and we were very shocked!

I have a serious case of baby brain already, tired all day already and odd bouts of slight nausea {only 4 weeks today!} Got my booking in apt for 27th October.

Hope you're all ok baby dust to all xxx

Wow, congrats krusty! I saw your name on the list and wondered if you would be getting yours soon!

They really are coming in leaps and bounds now! According to Ovia I can test on Sunday.
