Anyone had good service from any of the usual China/HK electronics sellers such as tinydeal.com, geekbuying.com, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, dx.com, aliexpress.com, buyincoins.com... and so on and so on.
Anyone found one that ships reliably and with decent delivery?

I normally take a risk. I use Aliexpress and set the search to free postage. Ive purchased from aliexpress 4 times now, 3 times for free where they arrived well packaged within 20 days and the other i paid £18 and they arrived within a week.
Majority of the sellers on aliexpress are reliable, some have rep which i tend to look out for.Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.0 -
I am swayed towards buyincoins at the moment, they used to be big on Ebay with decent feedback but seem to have stopped on there now. they also do DHL upgrade for about £9
Anyone used them?0 -
depends on what sort of tech you're after. I get most of my e-cig hardware direct from China, fasttech and focalecig. FT do all kinds of tech stuff, free postage over $15. focal are part of wallbuys, again vast range, with both of them they've been reliable, and e-cigs are just a small part of their ranges....worth checking out......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
Is there any issue with paying import duty on any of these ?0
-
Duty and tax are payable on almost all imports, plus clearing fees (RM £8, there are other couriers dearer clearing fees, or do your own for free but make sure you arrange this with the vendor). Smaller value packages often don't get stopped, but you should factor it in before you start.0

So - if I wanted to import some tablets (@ say £25 each) what would the import duty and tax be ?0

Duty and tax are payable on almost all imports,
If the shipment value is over £15. If less, then nothing more to pay.
I've used aliexpress several times. If anything the service from sellers has improved - certainly shipping time is reduced. (Now more like 2-3 weeks, rather than 4-6).0 -

But what are the rates ?
I can't fathom HMRC's website !0 -
Right - found a site, telling me "Import Duty 4.7% + vat at 20%"
Does that look correct ?0 -
Will companies package up goods in individual packs (of under £15 each) - to save any further costs ?
Or is HMRC wise to this - will they look at a complete order ?0
