S4 catches fire while on charge
My s4 caught fire while on charge melting the bottom of my phone and the usb end of the charger. I phoned samsung straight away and explained what had happened, eventually they requested the phone and charger be sent to their repair center for an investigation. They have since emailed me saying it was a power supply problem, but the plug and socket were not damaged. They attached a quote for repair as they say this is not covered by the warranty. I need advice on what I do next, who I complain to and what action I take now.

Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it0 -

As said did you use the charger and cable that came with the phone .
If so then you need an independent engineers report on the exact cause of the fault .
Unless you bought from Samsung you should have returned to vendor under warranty .0 -
They will do their best to make sure the fault is outside of warranty. I'd get it checked elsewhere and if the engineers report says it's the phone fault argue with them.
It seems as though this is a common problem lots of articles on it happening.0 -
Surely not a great idea to making calls while your phone is on fire?0

Who supplied the phone to you? Did you acquire it in conjunction with a service contract or did you buy it as a standalone product? You have statutory rights against the supplier and limited contractual rights against the manufacturer.0

Was it an official Samsung charger or was it a 99p knock-off?0
