  • If the mortgage is in joint names I would imagine you are jointly and severally liable for the payments. Just because your husband has moved out it doesn't absolve him from paying the mortgage on a jointly-owned property. Also, you have to wait 13 weeks before you can apply (I got sent the form automatically 13 weeks after my JSA claim - you fill in part of it and the lender fills in the rest).

    Poorlittlefish, she can claim for help with her half of the interest on the mortgage, as I did. I will say though it doesn't amount to very much.
