Would You Buy A New Jag

They don't exactly have a reputation for quality cars so will this kill the brands. It may be opening up new markets but do the country set really want their cars built in India ?

When i win the lottery i would have a fleet of Jaguars. One for shopping one for sunny days out etc etc...
Made in India... Noooo.... I would rather spend my money on bringing the Reliant Robin back and have a fleet of them instead.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

I bought an XJ6 4.0 at 2 years old, had it 10 years and then changed to a 4 year old XJ8 3.2 that I've now owned for 12 years. Periodically I dither about updating but can't really see the point. We've always had a smallish hatchback as a workhorse so the Jag. is mostly for long journeys and every time I drive it I think how great it is. I think that rearward visibility of current XJs and XFs is poor - that's why they have CCTV - and I don't really like their styling.0

Not so much about the brand but the country of origin.InsideInsurance wrote: »Really? there are plenty of brands known for build quality and/ or reliability issues and yet they continue doing well.0 -
What difference does that make? Tata made the investment in the UK, spent the money on crumbling buildings, production lines, training and design. They promoted and revamped a dormant brand. After the Nano fiasco, do you think they'll build fag paper imitations of the Jag out of a tin shed to service the booming Indian and Asian markets?0

reeac the big problem they fixed with the XJ in its facelift guise was the rear headroom. I think most aficionados now wish they had left it alone!
Have to say though that despite the Volvo like front ends, the new, new XF and XJ are growing on me. Even a short 3.0 XJ diesel would do.0 -
If the build quality improves when they're being made in India I'd buy one.Make £2018 in 2018 Challenge - Total to date £2,1080
