Mobile phone insurance mis sold

Hi, I have discovered I have been paying out 6.99 per month since 2010 for mobile phone insurance I did not take out. the compnay - fonesafe - say it was taken out with t Mobile when I took the contract out but I have checked with t Mobile and they confirm I did not. I have never recevied any paperwork from fone safe until now. What are my chances of claiming this money back? do I complain to the company or is there an industry body I can complain to? Any ehlp would be much appreciated - feel I have been taken for a mug!!

This has just happened to us and been paying since 2009 and just got a letter other day so we phoned them it works out about £420 altogether over the years, now the funny part is the phone is not used and the number no longer in use for about 4 years, and my wife said she never took the insurance out, this was back up by fonesafe ? Funny that and t-molbie ee orange shop said the same and they stop using fonesafe years ago, let's look at the certificate they sent, make of phone unknown make, model unknown model, shop says they can not sell a policy without a phone, ?

Now fonesafe say you bought the phone from t-mobile yes and she did, t-mobile no record, fonesafe do you have a record of my wife signing up to your phone insurance no, so why you taking £6.99 out each month since 2009 don't know, they said why you just noticed er because you sent a letter and the dd bank statement says different name, oh and we have insurance for different things at £6,99 and we do check this one slipped thro the net, so now waiting for there 5 day reply

The only problem you have is that it took you 5 years or so to notice which doesn't make a very credible complaint. But they were notorious for just adding it on, I remember a guy at Vodafone asking me if I wanted it and I outright refused, then a couple of weeks later noticed they setup a DD for it which I cancelled.

See what they say first and take it from there.
  • Well it could be someone was passing info on from t-mobile committing fraud to fonesafe hard sell pushing t-mobile staff without concent signing people into it without anyone signing, even if it taken this long funny how no one as info, bank statement show taken out also there letter and certificate show, if you stole from a business under there nose you will pay back or jail it should like ppi ? all monies backdated should be paid back

Just received a letter from fonesafe they are investigating now will let you know, the t mobile told us they don't use them anymore but at the bottom of the letter it's got a mobile stamped on it, fonesafe is provided by home care insurance limited and member of cpp group so let you know what happens

As said in previous posts my wife was paying it and when few years back we was checking dd at the bank and not all bank could tell you who monies was going to as they dont have address, this was the norm for most people and asking a family member whom works at a bank, but now it's getting easier as many companies are told to supply address when setting up dd to help people now 1: not knowing whom the £6,99 was going to 2: having other dd going out a few with £6.99 goingnowt and not wanting to cancel something that was/could needed 3: first ever time received a letter and guarantee letter and seeing that money is taken out every month since 2009 as stated on there letter now we now and can match the letter to bank dd

Think positive. At least you've had your phone insured for the past 5 years.
