I agree about not being judgemental. A lot of people buy M&S milk because they only buy milk from UK and Irish farmers, who they pay a guaranteed fair price. Those who want to support UK farmers don't go to Asda to buy milk because Asda (and others such as Tesco) frequently cuts the price they pay to UK farmers, and now TWO UK dairy farms per day go out of business as a result.

Personally, I don't consider paying more for milk in order to support our dairy farmers to be money down the drain.

Although I thanked you, I don't actually do this with milk, but I do buy chickens where the packaging offers some hope that the chicken had something better than a terrible life before it was killed. I also appreciate that some people on or near the breadline will not be able to afford to do that (which is why that comment wasn't aimed at you).
Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop

Advice not sought is, in my opinion, rarely welcomed.

    One of life's great truths.

My advice is to keep quite and enjoy your on-going friendly relationship.

Well, you did seek advice, ...... didn't you?

Well, the jury seems to be "out" on this one. It does not appear to be yet "proven" that he has poured the money down the drain, in this instance.

Where I live I can get a 4 pint carton of milk from Asda for £1. The other day I could not be bothered going to Asda so went to Marks and Spencer, which is nearer. They charged me £1.49 for the same carton of milk.

That is what I call money down the drain. It does not make me frustrated that people are prepared to pay such inflated prices. It is their choice.

When I bought my last computer a friend shook her head at me. She thinks it was several hundred pounds down the drain "playing", as she calls it with a gadget. She despises computers.

She is more than proud to tell me about her newly planned (very expensive) holiday abroad. I think it is money down the drain.

A lot of it is "relative". We have to be careful about being judgemental.

Keep well clear .Finance is up there with religion and politics as areas where people don't want to change their minds.

Yes its all about choices. My dad used to have a shop with supermarkets either end.Simply he sold fags at no profit to get people in the shop and hopefully buy something that would give him a profit. One day guy complains that his box of chocs is 25p cheaper at supermarket ,Dad says well why arent you buying from there?Guy says they are sold out .Dad says well when Im sold out mine are that price as well.:D

My son had a perfectly good VW which was nearly paid off but decided to trade it in to get a BMW, he now has to pay a few hundred pounds a month more than he did. All for the 'image he wants
