July 2010, a family group of 11 travelled from Gatwick toMalaga on an easyJet flight for a weeks holiday. The flight going out wasdelayed by over 7 hours and the flight back was cancelled altogether resultingin us being over 6 hours late in our return to Gatwick. On my return, I wroteto easyJet for compensation but they replied saying there was nothing theycould do.
A couple of months ago, I was in the car listening to MartinLewis on RADIO 5 LIVE. He mentioned that due to new EU regulations beingintroduced, compensation was nowavailable for delayed and cancelled flights retrospectively.
I used the template letters on MoneySavingExpert to write toeasyJet to claim compensation. Although the process was a bit long winded, Ihave now received £7299.89 in compensation from easyJet – that works out at £663.63per person well in excess of the cost of the flights.
A RESULT!!!!!

That's a great result - well done. Have easyJet explained how they reached that figure for eleven people?
EDIT: I'm being slow - I didn't realise Malaga was further than 1500km away (it is - just!). So that's about £330 per passenger each way.
PS What were the dates of the flights?0 -
Interesting that they didn't put forward the Dawson more than 2 years ago excuse.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
