  • I will reach my target of £75 before end of month so very pleased with that. I will go for the £100 next year as we will be starting on 1st January so will have more time to save. I do hope we continue with this as it gives me something to aim for and every little helps. I never have any change in my purse now for car parking etc as everything goes in the jar.:T
  • Hi everyone,

I'm up to £35.55 in my bubble bath jar now, so should get half way to the £75 jam jar total. I joined a few weeks late and use a card for groceries so I'm pleased with this total anyway.

Well done to everyone who's stayed for the whole of this challenge, some of the totals saved are very impressive!! I've really enjoyed my first MSE challenge, surprised how tidier my purse feels without the change too. Thanks very much to the OP.

Final total next weekend I guess...

  • Hi all,

It seems everyone is doing well with this challege - everyone has managed to save something - however small they may think their saving is. I am afraid that I have 'robbed' my jar this weekend. We were saving to go towards a Nintendo Wii - well I am sure you must have heard how difficult it is to get these at the moment. I managed to get hold of one yesterday so, therefore, had to 'rob' the pig to go towards payment. I know that was what the money was for and we got what we wanted, but I feel a bit deflated now that there is only £10.01 left in the pig! On the other hand - will have to start saving for something else now - hmmmmm maybe we will need another game for it soon?????

  • Well I have £75.49 so reached my target of £75. I bought a large money tin from the pound shop on Saturday and am thinking of just putting all my change in that next year and just waiting until end of November to get the tin opener out. Its that is ok I will still post on here but not give a total. Thought it would be a surprise end of year but I will still be in the challange. Will try for £100 if the tin will hold that amount.:T
