  • The reason you're able to get £2k off the price of the current Polo is because there's a new one coming out. The new one will be an increase on list and without the discount, so expect to pay £14K+.

I've used DtD and they are genuine and very good at sourcing a discount, I doubt you'll get a local dealer to match it, I couldn't when I bought a Golf.

If you like the current car and are happy with the price then buy it.

Am I right in thinking the VW Golf has only just come out and DtD provides a very competetive price on this new model.

So I guess going by the Golf if I wait DtD might negotiate something on the new Polo. According to articles I have looked at on the web about the new Polo the prices are remaining the same but the cars have better engine specs and they are dumping a diesel engine.

It is an interesting website you can get a Tiguan very reasonably priced!

VW Golf MRP about £20,134 - £17,715 on DtD for the SE (upper) version.
  • Being a girl can any of you lovely lads tell me what all this TSI is all about I keep reading? It is the engine I know. But what makes a TSI better over the other engine?

But what makes a TSI better over the other engine?

Just a general rule of thumb that the smallest engine in a range tends to be a shade underpowered and as a result you tend to push them a bit harder resulting in poorer fuel consumption and potentially higher wear and tear.

If you drive like Miss Daisy it shouldn't be a problem.

If you wait for the new car there will not be any deals around for awhile but you might find the older ones priced even better. But, VW will be running down stocks so they can avoid heavy discounting of the older model so you might not find one when the time comes. The caveat of that last statement is that they actually have any stock as VW tend to produce to order these days.

TSI is the moniker given to VW group petrol engines with at least turbo charging some have turbo and supercharging. This makes them more powerful but without sacrificing efficiency (up to a point). So a 1.2 TSI probably produces about the same power as a standard 1.6.

I have a 1.4 TSI in my Skoda Octavia its a great engine.
