Okay this is my first post so be kind to me!
I've recently gone from a size 26 (UK size) to a 16.
The problem is i have no clothes! No money either due to my husband just starting work today and no one to help me out either.
Any ideas/tips/advice would be hugely appreciated!
I'm going out of my mind..
What's the point in losing weight if you feel worse than before?
I don't know what to do..

Well done, how fantastic you must be proud!
Have you had a look in charity shops? I get most of clothes in them as well as being a volunteer. That way you can buy a variety of sizes. Also, what about some nice wide stretchy belts to use with some of your older items.? Do you have a friend with a sewing machine who, could help?Norn Iron Club member 4730 -
Well done you!
So ok you don't have any money to buy new clothes BUT you do have size 26 clothes you no longer need. Start taking some photo's and list on Ebay. They will be plenty of larger ladies who perhaps can't get to the shops or prefer to buy online.0 -
first of all massive congrats!!!!!
baggy is very in this year so pull all your big tshirts off one shoulder or if wearing a cardi use a hairband at the back to tighten. use belts to sort out trousers or if you are any good at sewing take a triangle piece out of each side of the legs. again if your good at sewing use old clothes to make new ones you can make jeans into skirts t shirts into dresses. look in charity shops and do some swaps within your local area or with friendsThe only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50 -
Have you tried freecycle or any clothes swapping/second hand items for sale groups on facebook? Are any of your old clothes things than can be altered or worn with a belt?
When you say you've got no money, I don't know if you mean literally NO money, or just a very small budget, but if it's the latter you might be able to find some bargains if you have a rummage at a charity shop. If you need new, better fitting underwear too then Primark is probably the cheapest option.
Well done for your weight loss, that's a huge drop in sizes and you should feel proud of what you've achieved even if you don't have anything nice to wear yet

Can you sell your old clothes on a local Facebook group? Even pieces for £1 or £2 can raise more money for something else - you might even find clothes you like on there too? In the better weather, what about boot sales?
What about your old tops, can you take them in at the waist with a belt and wear over leggings? Do you have a sewing kit? Anything you could take in a little with a few stitches to fit your new shape better? Maybe the old style money saving board will have some thrifty people who are a dab hand at altering clothes to advise you?0 -
Also if you can speak to any charity shops in your area. In the one in my town they allow swaps sometimes so if you explain and donate your size 26 clothes they may let you have some 16s.
Well done on your loss. That's a brilliant achievement!0 -
These are all brilliant suggestions! I really hadn't thought about re-using my old clothes!
I haven't hand sown for a loooong time but hey, why the hell not?
Thank you all sooo much!!0 -
Primark.
I've tried the belts thing; you end up looking like you're wearing comedy trousers, and t shirts look like sacks because the shoulders are too broad.
I do understand exactly what this is like and I've even boil washed stuff in the hope of getting them vaguely usable. Look on it as using the money you would have spent on extra/unhealthy food in a more productive way. You can get a pair of trousers and a top for £15 or less. But youll feel so much better in something that fits you.
Oh, and get your feet measured. You've probably gone down a size and width fitting - wearing shoes that are too big can cause Achilles tendinitis. Trust me - you really don't want that.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

Freecycle is a great idea. Charity shops, Ive had many a bargain in charity shops, jeans for 3 quid, I got a coat for 99p on saturday, my local barnardos sells all its clothes for 99p, if theres one near you go and have a look.0

George at ASDA has started its online sale today... they have some cheap trousers and jeggings which will keep you going until you can get more stuff.
You can get cheap t-shirts for a couple of pounds and dress them up with scarves or chunky jewellery.
Another vote for Freecycle / Freegle as well.:hello:0
