Best Non Cashback/Airline Card

Hi All,
Have been browsing about the forums but cannot really see a discussion for people who dont want to tie themselves to Airline or Cashback - i.e. the Rewards card.

I currently have a Gold Amex charge, and like the membership reward program. I know they are not such a great deal and some of the cashback or the airline technically are worth more, but I like the flexability.

I have been looking at getting rid of the Amex, and moving over to one of the dual card accounts (i.e. MBNA More Rewards or Lloyds Choice Rewards), so that 100% of my spend (apart from the direct debit that is) is on cards which are paid off every month.

I cant see alot about the MBNA on here, there are a few about the old rewards program but nothing I can find about the new one.

Does anyone have the More Rewards card (no the older one), and can they shed some light into the redemption options and costs (i.e. do I need 1 Million points to get something like £100 statement credit for a £50 iTunes Voucher??).

Lloyds choice do let you see more of the rewards, but I have been put off by the yearly fee, and the fact that it is 5 points for £5 on the mastercard, meaning (if I get this right), smaller transactions (say 3.99 in startbucks) wont hit any rewards at all (btw i am aware startbucks accept amex and the collect is better, merely an example :-) ).

Most cards will be either straight up cash back or a rewards based system linked to a particular airline/hotel chain/retailer etc.

You are probably better off deciding what exactly you want to achieve and then going from there - there really is no 'one-stop-shop' card I'm afraid. Actually there is, a straight cash back card - you really can't beat it for convenience or flexibility! If you are not clear on what you want then just get the best cash back card for your circumstances.

As you have already noted, most (not all) non-Amex cards have lower points earning rates than Amex cards.
