Driving in Europe '90 day limit'

Hi,
I'm currently covered by One Call car insurance, for which I get 90 days cover included in Europe at my current rate (comprehensive). I am going to work there for just under 6 months and was unsure what way to go.... Once the 90 days is over wold I still be covered but at third party on my green card? So therefore no action required?
I know there are companies which offer more days but can't afford to swap providers....(ones with more than 90 days seem to be a lot more expensive)....

I would check your terms and conditions, and if in doubt speak to the insurance company for clarification. Lastly, it may be worth taking an insurance policy out in the country you are going to be based in0

I've just found this o looks like I'm covered....but still confused by the 90 day limit wording....
Section 4 Foreign use
Compulsory insurance requirements
We will also cover your legal liability to others while you or any driver covered by this policy are using the car in:
• Any country which is a member of the European Union.
• Any country which the Commission of the European Community approves as meeting the requirements of Article 7(2) of the
European Community Directive on Insurance Civil Liberties arising from using motor vehicles (number 72/166/CEE).
Please note the cover is limited to that which must be provided under the road traffic law of the country you visit or the minimum cover required in Great Britain, whichever is greater.
Exclusions:
• Your vehicle will not be covered for accidental damage, windscreen cover, fire or theft and use is restricted to social, domestic and pleasure, unless the minimum level of cover is higher than that required under the road traffic laws.
• If your Certificate of Motor Insurance allows you to drive any other car, that cover does not apply outside the territorial limits. See section 11 for further information on driving other cars.0 -
If you are working there don't you have to get your car registered in the country you are in?0
-
That section you quoted doesn't mention 90 days???
You do realise you only have third party cover whilst abroad?0 -
Or you fly over and you dont need to the insurance, petrol etc.0
-
They legally must give the equivalent of RTA cover across europe (just below Third Party Only cover) so it depends if you want to risk having no cover at all on your own vehicle and potentially personal liability in certain circumstances (it will vary by country but in the UK with RTA cover you'd be liable for any damage or injury caused when on land not covered by the RTA, normally private land but not car parks)0

Yes I'm aware it would only be third party....on speaking to them and receiving an email from them stating 90 days coverage....0
-
This was the email they sent:-
I can advise that cover is provided in any country which is part of the European Union, plus Andorra, Croatia, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Monaco, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, San Marino and Switzerland.
Please note that cover is limited to that which must be provided under the road traffic law of the country you visit or the minimum cover required in Great Britain, whichever is greater.
You will be required have a copy of your Certificate of Motor Insurance with you at all times while driving.
I can see that you have advised us of the dates you will be leaving and returning so that everything is in order.
The maximum number of days in total covered is 90 days which can all be in one trip or over multiple trips.
For further details please see your relevant policy booklet in the Existing Customers section of our website.
This is what the policy says...still a bit confused:-

So are you saying that the first time the 90 days maximum cover was mentioned to you was in the email?
If so confirm with them you will be away longer than 90 days and take it from their reply.0 -
It may have been 'mentioned' when purchasing... But wouldn't haven't been looking then, surely the policy document would have to mention it?0
