Loot Email Pen Pal Scam?

Spoken to Loot and they say.
Beware of anyone who asks you to remove your ad before you have completed, will give only an Email and no indication of where they live and use English that is phrased incorrectly.
Yes to all 3 !!!!!!!!!!!
This scam is prevalent on Gumtree as well, works on the basis that people don't understand the PayPal on collection scam. They target dozens of people at a time, sometimes they don't even mention what it is they are enquiring about, they just say 'I am interested in your item'.

The fact that no one sees this as a scam. As the Op states, now he has mentioned cash and buyer has gone quiet I think I was right.
See again you have failed to read the post, just for your benefit I will go through it again.
How can you disagree with the above responses? Did you read them? There are only three responses all of which say take cash on delivery and none of them advocate paypal as a payment method in this scenario.
There is no scam if you do as directed by the 3 posts above yours..0 -

Well then - it's an attempted scam;) it looks likely not to succeed because OP is (rightly IMO) very cautious.
Notice they're going for the sympathy thing here - and the person who claims to be the buyer apparently won't be the person collecting.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

The point is it is an attempted scam, the rest is irrelevant. Post 2 states 'Why would it be a scam? '. post 5 'Not strange at all, '
The paypal on collection scam is something that catches many people and on the ebay board we mention it time and time again to try and spread the word- yet every day people fall for it. I therefore disagree with the posts who see this as not a problem and easily overcome by asking for cash. Yes cash would avoid the scam, but it ignores that there is any intention to scam- and that is dangerous.
I am not upset that you believe I have misread the posts- but if I have made one person stop and think and maybe save them from problems in the future then I am happy to be considered wrong.
This scam is a nasty vicious one and whilst people fall for it I will post about it over and over again.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Plus, as the OP has pointed out - the 'genuine buyer' has gone strangely quiet since the OP has asked for cash...;)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Reminds me of a time about 10 years ago I moved into a rented house with friends & we were looking for a tumble dryer. We just wanted a cheap second hand one so tried a local paper that has these sorts of ads.
Anyway we went to look at one. The guy there selling was supposedly deaf, he had one for £30 which turned out he got the listing wrong and wanted £80 for it. He then found another that looked like a piece of junk to me that he said he'd take £30 for. One of my friends was going to say yes but there was just something about this guy, I don't recon he was deaf, I recon it was all an act. I said to my friend I didn't want it and we left.
I'm still sure to this day he wasn't deaf. He just had this dodgy look about him.0 -

If he was actually Death... I probably would have bought it from him!
Now, if he was merely deaf...0 -
