This forum should be renamed CSI. I've noticed this a lot lately, people seem obsessed with "absolute proof". It's consumer rights, most laws applicable here aren't done on "beyond all doubt" but "balance of probabilities". Too many wanna be detectives.
People then manage to drag out a thread arguing the toss over whether they would deem it sufficient proof (as if that matters) or that it isn't infallible proof or beyond all doubt.
Madness. It's obvious why they do it, to cover themselves and their job. It may make a dishonest person think twice, it will also go in the drivers favour, not to mention if they had a habit stealing, it would soon become apparent. So it will show where it was delivered on the balance of probabilities and protects them.0 -

Which they could do in many combinations of circumstances.
Remember this is a multi drop driver
Imagine as a manger coming to a driver a few days after deliver(or supposed delivery) and saying remember that packet for X address. What did you do with it?
This way they have a record of the address/door to fall back on.
When investigating denial of receipt. I cant remember is the most common answer IME
However given your responses. I think saying no in future will be easier for you0
