Bank Account Frozen PLEASE HELP

Your circumstances are very unusual so don't get upset if some of us are suspicious.
Halifax are a pain in the rear with their petty little rules but one thing is clear, they should have returned your last benefit payment. Check with them to see if it actually went in. It might have been returned by now, in which case the DWP can re issue a giro.
Meanwhile go to the police and try to find out about this so called fraud. If the police will only enquire of the Halifax what is going on it will kick the investigation up the pile. Its a long shot but it might help.
If there is still no dice then I would go the whole hog, go to the Halifax branch and just refuse to move until they contacted the fraud department and find out all the details, if possible speak to them yourself. If they call the police that will at least get them involved.

Your DWP office will happliy get your bank to release the money to you that they paid in to the account, provided it is paid in to an account in your own name. It is unlawfully for the bank to refuse access to it. If you need more advice google "govan law centre", whre they tell you the details of the part of the law in comes under. In the meantime, the DWP will give you a Crisis Loan to cover you until the matter is corrected.James0

A troll is some who places misleading posts, or trolls through threads being disruptive and a general pain in the !!!!!. I was dubious about palace1 to begin with.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

There was recently a poster (also accused of being a troll) who claimed the bank put some £195,000 in error into a friend’s account and that friend had spent the loot. Think about it: occasionally one might get a credit that does not belong to you. It’s pretty rare, never happened to me. If so, the sum is more likely to be £19.50 than £195.000. At this point, your judgement comes in: do you believe that story or is the poster just making it up.
If a poster is brand-new to the forum and their story is way out of other member‘s personal experience, that also increases the likelihood of a yarn being spun. I have no idea, if that particular story is genuine or not, but for a bank to act with such severity, you probably must be accused of laundering monies for Al-Qaeda.0 -

I actually had a similar amount of money credited to my business account once. Don't remember exactly, but I think it was even more, something like half a million quid! I did not check the bank that morning (unusual), but I got a phone call from my manager at the time saying what had happened and not to spend the money. It got reversed at the end of the day unfortunately, but it looked good for the day!Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.
