Roof Repair Nightmare !!!! Please help..

Hi,
We had to let our home out as we had to move because of my husbands Job.
The tenants reported water coming through the roof. So I looked online for roofer & through the checkatrade.com had 3 quotes & went with one of those companies to do the job. The company along with the quote also assured that the work that were doing will 100% resolve the issue (by email) on 10th December.
So work was carried out on 19th December, paid the full amount of £630.00 the same day.
In a couple of days , the roof started leaking again. Tried contacting the company by phone calls & text messages but had no response. But waited for few more days , thinking may be they are on Christmas holidays. But then when they finally responded end of December , they agreed to go back to the property to rectify the issue.
They failed to attend that appointment, & the following 3 appointments as well.. The last appointment was for last Tuesday which again nor did they contact the tenants or did they turn up.
The roof is continuing to leak.. Had another handy man to lay a tarpaulin on the attic to protect the ceiling..
This has caused extreme distress to me & my tenants.
Yesterday I have sent an email, asking him to attend the issue as a matter of urgency & also said will otherwise contact the trading standards...
Not sure where I stand with this, or what I can do to solve the issue..
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I can't give any constructive advise other than see if contacting trading standards will help.
It's a great pity you chose somebody from a website such as Checkatrade as I understand that the tradesmen on these sort of sites pay to have their name included.
It's always better to try to get recommendations where tradesmen are concerned, but I do understand how difficult it can be when you can't get a recommendation from anybody. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
AS you have given them an opportunity to rectify, send them a LBA email.0

Sorry, can you please tell me what is an LBA email...0

Hi cattle,
Thank you for your reply. Did not know that checkatrade was unreliable. Seeing the reviews left by other users I thought they would be fine for the job.
I really wish I had some recommendations....0 -

Can I make alternate arrangements to solve the issue in the meantime .0 -
Do you have full contact details for the roofer? Are they a limited company?0

I am really stuck...& really worried... It's so frustrating not able to get a response from the roofer!0 -
I have no idea what I should do now.. Should I send them a LBA now?.does that mean I'll have to go to courts...should I be making alternate arrangements to rectify the issue in the meantime?

Use this to look for another roofer( could you get advice estimate?)
I've tried to do a who is but the address given is the company who designed their website, is that legal?
They seem to be sole trader or in partnership with son.
I assume the op has their address from their website.0
