  • Are you sure you need a guarantor? I checked a couple of provinces listed here - http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/subjects/cards/birth_certificate.shtml - and all I could find was that you need to send photcopies of id such as passport or driving licence. No mention of guarantor. Maybe ring the high commission in London? They must get asked this all the time by Canadians resident here.

    I'll have to ring, I filled in the whole form as best I could - no idea what hospital I was born in. and then it requested the Guarantor info and I couldn't get any further without it! Such a stress. Why couldn't my parents just have given birth to me here!!
