Broken Mobile, Please Help!

As the title suggests my Samsung Galaxy S3 is broken. I'm not sure what it is, was working fine when I left it in my car then when I returned it wouldn't turn on and still wont. I bought the phone from eBay in January 2013. The seller had got the phone as an upgrade but didnt want it. She sent me the receipt with the phone. Is there anyway I can get this repaired through the contract even know its not in my name? Ive never had a contract so I'm unsure on all this, Thanks.

Have a read of this thread (with another link inside):
Samsung Galaxy S3 Warranty is not transferable if bought 2nd hand0 -
Unfortunately the S3 has a bit of a reputation for "sudden death syndrome", which sounds like what you're describing. My OH has one and its done it twice, but was fortunately repaired each time by Samsung under their two year warranty. Don't know what they did to fix it, but it appeared to be the same phone that came back.
Might be worth contacting Samsung to see if you can get it repaired?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. I have the store, date and time it was purchased which having a read of the other thread is what they ask for. I'll see what Phones 4 U say too but I think I may have to tell a few lies to get it sorted0

I would try a Samsung service centre if it is indeed Sudden Death Syndrome eMMC bug .
Easy way to tell is boot to download mode Product Code blank = SDS .0 -

I would guess the problem with that is the phone won't power up at all once it has died. Even the shop my OH took it back to couldn't power it up, but sent it back to Samsung for repair. Mind you, that was the "Nothing Nowhere" guys who live up to that name with ease it seems.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards.
