This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Would have been my dad's birthday today.
Usual dash and weather appears to be awful - well it sounds like it, obviously pitch black so can't see a thing.
Bought loads of YS cheese yesterday so will be snacking instead of dinner tonight.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well, warm and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

More likely to be trees & outdoor paraphernalia exchanged over the garden fence today than words. Heaven's it's windy. Good Morning anyway fence people
Off to throw whatever I can find into the slow cooker before I start getting myself ready to face the day. I will too tired tonight to be bothered cooking from scratch so it's going to be a lazy casserole night.
Careful travelling needed today, I think. Keep slow & safe..0 -
Woke up early but staying upstairs while dd gets ready for work.
DH took early retirement a couple of years ago and we don't have to get up so early now.
Brekkie will be high fibre cereal and fruit and lunch will be home made soup with a la leftovers for DH (made extra portions of Sunday lunch).
I want to get to local butchers for a family pack of sin free meats (skinned and fat trimmed off) which will make main meals for the next five or six days for four of us and can stretch further if needed. Both dds that are away come home for weekend later this month.
Battery running low so hugs to all and see you later."This site is addictive!"

Morning all
Seems to be overcast today but not raining yet, can't complain, Saturday & Sunday were both sunny, hubby got loads done in the garden & I got washing almost dry on the line.
I have a beautiful bunch of red tulips from DD, brightening up my dining table & a lovely narcissus in the living room, a gift from hubby to celebrate Imbloc.
Off to work soon for another day of joy, hubby is on lates so he has a cuppa in bed.
Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning All
Sat here with a coffee enjoying the peace and quiet - OH is at work and DS still asleep.
Off to work in an hour, just about to put pork in the slow cooker (had a change of menu plan yesterday) which we will have tonight in baps with stuffing and apple sauce (nothing too taxing for when I get in). Other than that no real plans today.
No rain here at the moment yay :j and the forcast is dry all day.
Have a great day all.x0 -
Morning all dark and damp atm outside.Knitting club this morning and library as well, so no shopping at all which is good.
Yesterdays apple pie was deicious and my DGS devoured well over half of it for pudding last night:):):)Helped using up the windfalls that I had cooked and frozen before Christmas
Its looking decidedly blowy out there so I will be wrapping up well I think today
Have a good one what ever you are doing
Cheers chums

Chilly here, doesn't seem to be too windy now but was in the night. I think it's reasonably dry too. Off to work soon for another busy week. Half term this coming weekend so the children are off Friday (we have an in-service) day and then we are off Monday and Tuesday.
Salmon and stir fry last night, I think it will be chorizo risotto tonight, nice and simple. Just making packed lunches, soup for DD and salad for me.
Have a good week, hugs to those in need. Take care. XX0 -
Morning everyone
Now light, still wet underfoot, but has dried out a bit as both Saturday and Sunday here were beautiful sunshine although with a nip in the air. Not sure what’s forecast for later though.
DH up and gone to work stupid early.
Dinner yesterday was a frozen chicken joint, (one of those things in a silver tray ready to just bung in the oven). I don’t really like using that kind of thing, but as we didn’t know what time we’d be home it was a handy stand by. I served roast potatotes, carrots, broccoli, peas, Yorkshires and gravy with it, then xmas pud and brandy sauce for dessert, all eaten and enjoyed. Dinner tonight will be smoked sausage and mushroom pasta in a crème fraiche sauce, with a part baked bread roll each – they go out of date in a day or 2 and I won’t be wasting them.
The weekend was great, the food was fabulous, as was the company – it was great to meet up with friends and also had some chill time too. Although when we arrived on site the shower cubicle door had come away from it’s housing and was laying in the shower cubicle itself – luckily the door hasn’t broken nor has the plastic shower surround, and also the water wouldn’t heat on the electric setting – but did when we use gas – so stopped off at our friendly caravan engineer’s shop on the way home and he’s diagnosed the problem and it’s booked in for when we are there doing a promotional weekend and he’ll fix it then.
Back to work today for me, it’ll probably be a manic Monday as there’s lots of council tax reminders/summons being sent out at the moment as we’re at the end of year and they need to collect as much as possible before the end of year. Although I’m doing a job which is likely to be steady but not horrendously busy – if the rota’s hasn’t been changed since the last time I looked at it last week!
When we got back yesterday I opened our post and my MrT clubcard vouchers have arrived, have quite a nice few – so won’t be spending them will save them to convert to rewards to use when we’re on hols in London in the summer – I’m hoping they are still valid for the open top bus tours as we’ve done it before but will use it again – but only if I can use vouchers to pay as it’s rather expensive.
Keep safe and well x

First day of my week off work and in typical fashion I have woken up with a sore throat and runny nose
Off to see dd1 at uni , haven't seen her for a month and she has a day off before she goes on placement . We are taking her to the chiropodist as she has an Ingrowing toenail , then off for lunch then taking her to find her placement so she knows where to go . Looking forward to seeing her so much :j
Dd2 is off to school , she will take my car today
Toast for breakfast , going to pick a few things up food wise for dd
Have a good day everyone xx0 -
Morning all,
Looks like it might be a nice (but cold day) off to work for us all, I will drop dd off on the way, although we work at the same place I am on a different site this morning.
Spag bol for dinner tonight which is nice and quick, whoever gets in first will start cooking. I also need to do an online shop and some washing.
Had a lovely lazy day yesterday, got the basics (kitchen, washing and changed the bed) done in the morning and then sat and watched films in the afternoon and restored my batteries.
Have good days all xx0
