Moto G 8GB or Alcatel One Touch Idol S?

OH has been offered these 2 for upgrade on T-Mobile (along with £6.99 pm) He's discounted the S3 Mini and Galaxy Ace 3 as they are less phone for the money.
In the shop, he was leaning towards the Alcatel, but not sure how sturdy it will be. Both handsets were dummies, so he didn't get to try the features.
Which would you go for and why? Thanks

Moto G all day long. Sweet phone in my opinion. Good quality and decent spec. Has Android KitKat too which is a dream to use.0

Well, in terms or specs they are very similar.
Alcatel seems to have a slower processor and smaller storage, but has a SD card slot.
Plus a slightly bigger screen, a fair bit slimmer and better camera / video recording, so it very much depends on what the person wants. Seems to be £129 PAYG + £20 top up plus an unlock fee so not dissimilar to the Moto G price, just trades 2 cores of power for quite a lot of other better bits. I wouldn't say no to one!European for 3 weeks in August, the rest of the year only British and proud.0 -
Alcatel is 4G handset if he likes it enough for a 4G upgrade.
SD slot more useful as he takes lots of photos but weren't sure of build quality as you don't hear much about Alcatel.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

I'd be quite confident in saying that the Alcatel handset will be nowhere nearly as good as the Moto G regardless of what it says on paper.0

He went for the Alcatel.
He absolutely loves it, works like a dream, the screen is awesome, does everything he wanted it to, and more - like watching iplayer when washing up. He can't believe he was given it as a free upgrade on Tmobile, on a £5pm contract giving 500mins, unlimited texts and 1GB data.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Altatel OneTouch Idol S 4G
Also available for £99.99 + £10 top-up at EE.
Less £31.50 through Topcashback brings it down to £78.49.
Plus the unlocking code of just 99p here.

From another thread:Hammer_Slammer wrote: »Alcatel one touch idol s 4g from EE is a contender, only £110 (inc £10 topup) and 99p unlock.
The only things its lacking is kitkat and a slightly slower processor otherwise its got much better specs than the moto g and much better looking also.
Its certainly worth a look as topcashback and quidco are offering £30 cashback on EE payg phones at the minute.
Edit: just seen Scrounger's post; Looks an absolute bargain at that price (as long as cashback materializes). OP can you actually save BBC iPlayer programmes to the HDD as opposed to just streaming them ?0
