Advice Please: Disconnection fee

Hello
I would be grateful for some advice please. I had been a loyal customer of Orange/EE since 1999, but earlier this year decided to switch provider. I chose Sky, and the switch of my landline and broadband took place on 14 January. Everything went smoothly, including a refund from BT. However, yesterday I received a statement from Orange via e-mail saying £18.37 would be taken from my account in 10 days time (this is the amount I was previously paying). I phoned them, and they told me that Sky had not notified them of the switch, and I had not contacted them. They said only the customer can ask for a service to be terminated. Because of this, they tell me they will charge me a further 14 days broadband fee of £9.18, and added to this will be a £29.69 disconnection fee (as the MAC code had not been requested ?). They then suggested I try to reclaim this fee from Sky. I therefore phoned Sky who more or less said that what I had been told was rubbish, and suggested I get back in touch with Orange/EE. I now feel rather confused. I have never switched provider before, so this is all new to me. Incidentally, I didn't contact Orange/EE when I switched, as a Sky advisor informed me the "Switch Team" would take care of everything. Can someone please advise me?

If you have moved from EE on a BT Wholesale service, to Sky LLU then you don't need a MAC, which means that its down to you to cancel your account with EE, so you will liable for the notice period. HOWEVER, as far as I'm aware you SHOULDN'T be charged the cease fee!0
